This week there wasn't a workshop therefore this week was primarily a research and development week. Sticking to the idea of using my sub conscious rather than seeing the work that I'm producing, I made an A1 drawing in pencil from touch of the clay figure that I made, I then worked into it using ink which I applied using a piece of charcoal id scratched into a chisel tip shape.
Above is the drawing that I made, which I really dislike, its a new shape entirely but besides that there is little I like about this image.
Above is a scan of my detailed drawing of the head of my demon. This is a significant drawing in my eyes as a new omen is revealed from my drawing which I've produced by merging the 3D and 2D sub conscious outcomes of work, what I mean is that there looks like a cloaked figure emerging in a cowering fearful position which looks sinister.
Below I have added a red skeletal figure of the character that I see when I look at this drawing to try and present how I interpret this image.
Below I've made a second drawing of the figures face, this time I've tried to emphasise the cloak by adding the wrinkles and ripples through the material, I've also tried to soften the texture of the image. Rather than developing this new character any further as this is simply what I saw when I looked at the work I'd already produced I want to focus on looking more at my own sub conscious to do this I want to go back and look again at object (1st workshop), therefore I want to try making a second clay figure without looking, this time I'm going to try making something that I think of when I consider the words which I associate with the darker side of the human condition, words such as Violence, Conflict, Destruction.
I've therefore made this canine looking beast which reflects the darker characteristics of humanity; our capacity for violence, savagery and cruelty. below is the figure that I've made.
